Camera Raw: How to prevent stripping away HEIC depth maps?

Since October 2017 Photoshop can read depth maps in HEIC files created on recent iPhones. But if the file is opened in ACR from Bridge, the depth map is stripped away. Is there a way to preserve the depth map or is the only solution to skip ACR and open the file directly in PS?
If I open the files directly in Photoshop from Bridge and apply ACR as a PS filter, the depth map is retained.

Currently there isn't a way to do this. We've entered an enhancement request against this thread. Thanks for asking the question!
