Bridge: renaming a file using a number

Question

While attempting to rename a file while in the thumbnail screen OR in the batch rename tool, when I attempt to use a digit (i.e. D2101) in the file name, the digit will NOT type in the name box (or text box in batch rename) but instead the RATING of the image (or all selected images for batch rename) is changed. Glitch. Bad for my work flow. Have Cloud, just got newest update to bridge. That is when the problem showed up.

I'm on a Mac running High Sierra, so your mileage may vary by OS, but I batch rename through Bridge all the time (as well as with individual files), and I have no problem using digits in the filename. I do it very often, and just tested in batch again to make sure.

But since you just updated, you may have been hit with corrupt preferences. That often happens, especially often with Bridge, when you update. So I'd try deleting Preferences first and see if that doesn't fix things. (I usually delete cache manually at the same time, just to clear everything out). If it doesn't fix the problem, come back and let us know what OS you're using.

There is a preference to use command/control when rating images. If that is off, then just typing the number will change the rating.
