Bridge - Batch rename issue with Sequencing Number item

I add a sequence number to the end of the file name and all I can get Bridge to do is change it to ^SEQN^. What is strange is I have another Sequence number in the file name and it works fine.

Here is an example of what I am getting: 2020_10_13 - 014 Roan Mountain State Park - Kingsport, TN - ^SEQN^.JPG

Here is a past picture rename of the same format which is what I’ve done in Bridge for at least 6 or 7 years: 2019_05_20 - 004 - Little River Hike - Gatlinburg, TN - 001.ORF

Here are screen captures of the problem.

I'm not sure that I am understanding.

Here is a regular expression find/replace. Is that what you are looking for?

It keeps the entire output name the same as the input, except for replacing the static ^SEQN^ placeholder with the variable sequential number. I did notice that you were renumbering 014 to 027 in the screenshot, so I'm slightly confused.

I am doing a batch rename of the form: "2019_05_20 - 004 - Little River Hike - Gatlinburg, TN - 001.ORF" Everything in the renaming settings is a TEXT setting except the 2 sequencing number items. However, instead of the batch rename giving me the above I will get "2019_05_20 - 004 - Little River Hike - Gatlinburg, TN - ^SEQN^.ORF"

Understand?

Ah, now I understand...

Perhaps you need to reset your preferences, you are correct, it shouldn't work like that!

Hi @colblip ,

Thank you for reaching out. We will pass on this feedback to the Bridge team. You can continue to Batch Rename with sequential numbering by copying/moving to another folder while you Batch rename. This will ensure your sequence and should give you a workaround for the workflow you are trying to achieve. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

@TanuGoel Thanks. This works as a workaround.
