Bridge: AI format files showing transparency grid for preview
So, with the latest update of Adobe Bridge, AI format files are now showing transparency grid in Bridge preview and thumbnails, instead of standard white background (the way it's been, like forever). Unchecking "Show Transparency Grid" in the the thumbnail preview options drop-down actually makes it worse... rendering the artboard background as dark grey instead (screenshots attached).
The worst part about this is that the transparency grid seems to be generated completely at random, as you can see in the screenshot (DIKUW_Logo_R1 vs DIKUW_Logo_R2), where one shows transparent background and the other artboard-white. There's no difference in the setup of these two files, as far as I can see... they're both presentation files for a 2 rounds of a logo design. R2 was in fact generated from R1 (resaved with a different name and updated content).
I find this new development extremely annoying... can anyone shed some light on what's happening here and/or how I can remedy this?
Thank you.

Appreciate the effort, but neither of your suggestions offer a solution to the issue. Altering the background colour of the interface to white doesn't affect the file previews, and if Errin is working on packaging, I suspect the majority of her composite files are most likely Illustrator (or InDesign).
Update to my original post:
Shortly after I made the post I was contacted by 2 members of the Adobe Bridge development team. They requested more screenshots from me, including full details of my computer configuration and were able to duplicate what I was (we are) experiencing. Since there have been no further developments since my original post above, I followed-up by email a little over a month ago. Here's the reply I received:
I use Bridge primarily as a Mac OS Finder replacement... As a busy professional designer I find it much easier to navigate job and asset folders using Bridge than Finder. The seemingly random application of the transparency grid to AI file previews is a relatively minor annoyance, but frustrating nonetheless.
Still holding out hope that this moves up the backlog chain get gets remedied soon.
