Bridge 9.0.1.316: Batch Rename: the "Text" fields will not accept any numeric characters

When renaming a file in Bridge, e.g. by pressing F2 and typing the new name, text characters are accepted, but any numeric characters is not accepted AND serves to change Rating.  I discovered this first in Batch Rename, where the "Text" fields will not accept any numeric characters.  This is under Win10 on an HP 8470p laptop, which uses an Intel i7 CPU.

Preferences->Labels. Click the checkbox to require command/control to apply labels and ratings.

OK, I agree that this fixes the bug.  Thanks for that.  But it's still a bug!  Why keep this as an option in Preferences - as it has been since Adam was a boy - when it is now a requirement?

IMHO there are too many unnecessary surprises of this kind with PS CC.  Please try not to make such unnecessary "improvements".  Or, at the very minimum, do a better job of alerting users to changes in long-established functions

Its not a bug AFAIK, although it seems like a dumb interface choice to me.
