Bridge 2020: Can't add metadata!

I am trying to add metadata (descriptions, keywords, etc) and I can't type it into the metadata window like previous versions of Bridge.  I can 'append' it if there is a template made.  Every time I type in the fields within the window, then click back on the thumbnails to 'add' it, nothing happens.

Try selecting the file you want to add metadata to, then click on the metadata field and enter your data, then click the checkmark at the bottom of the Metadata panel. Yes, it's a very clumsy way to add metadata, but that should work. If it doesn't, let us know and tell us what OS you're running. It works here on a Mac running Mojave.

I'm on 10.14.5 - Mojave.  It appears that method works but dang, why so clumsy now?  I never knew that checkbox was there and I use Bridge every day for decades now!  This worked just fine the old way... why the change?

Sorry, but you're asking the wrong person. I have no clue. At least you're working again. When it comes to Bridge, we must be grateful for small blessings. At least they haven't killed it off. LOL

If i was forced to import everything into Lightroom just to do small procedures and organization i'd rip my eyes out. LR has a purpose but so does Bridge.

@joshua I am able to add keywords without any issues in Bridge 2020 version. Damaged preferences or workspaces can cause unexpected behaviour in Adobe Bridge.

Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press  Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears.

Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.  Check now if the issue persists.

Resetting everything actually worked!  Thanks!  Phew.  I wasted a ton of time on work arounds... I'm happy to see it was my computer and not a bug/new feature.

Thank you Joshua for confirming that the issue has been resolved.
