Premiere Elements: How to import AVCHD files

I have a Sony RX100 mk111 camera and have AVCHD files on it, I can not import these files into Premier? I am using a MacBook Pro with Processor 2.3 GHz Intel core i5 Graphics Intel HD 3000 384MB
