Premiere Elements 12: Organiser - How can I get rid of broken links/missing files? (Windows)
Hello.
When I hit the organiser drop down I see a lot of broken links (missing files) in the elements organiser, that is because they have been moved externally.
How can I get rid of these dead links and clean things up please?
I've actually researched and lots of posts says to click somewhere, somewhere I can't actually find. If anybody could show me a screenshot of howto that would be super helpful (but not essential).
Appreciated!!

Thanks for posting your problem. The dead links in Organizer (and Premiere Elements) appear if the files have been removed/moved from their original location. Organizer saves the location for each file in its database and if there is any change in the location, it indicates the problem by showing those "dead link" symbols that you mentioned. You can choose File -> Reconnect -> All Missing Files so that application is able to locate each file. You can manually choose every missing file in the same window as well. Once all the files have been 'reconnected', you will no longer see those dead link symbols.
But, there is no such option to avoid seeing the dead links for the missing files. It is actually helping you to locate your catalog media (even if you misplaced/deleted it at any point). I hope this resolves your problem.

- First, find the missing (disconnected) files. Menu Find >> All missing files.
On the top of the resulting list of missing files, you have an icon (3 horizontal bars) to open a drop-down menu. You have the option, among others, to select all and another to delete all from catalog.
You can delete all in one click, or be more selective with the list.
- Beware that if you have thousands of files to delete in one batch, that will take a lot of time. Be patient.

I'm gonna give Michel more praise but hope it doesn't go to his head, when I say, Michel has convinced me in the past that he knows more about the Organizer than anyone I know besides Adobe employees. And I do not.
