Elements 15: Won't open (LavaSoft conflict)

I recently bought Photoshop elements 15 and when I try to use it, I get an error that it won't open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it still won't work. I need to know what to do so I can use the app

That link helped me fix the prob. I had the lavasoft infection. Couldn't remove the .dll file but was able to rename it. Done. Thanks!

A window comes up and says Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 has stopped working. It doesn't even get to the point where I even see the app opening.

I just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 15 and got the same message that it stopped working. Based on the comments above I found the program Ad-aware Web Companion published by Lava and uninstalled the program. That was it, Elements opened up without problem.

Same here. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several (4x) to no avail. Uninstalled Web Companion and it works!
