Photoshop Express: Can't save any changes to my images

IPad2, not running other apps, not trying to write to an external drive.
Nothing I CHANGE IN A PHOTO IS SAVED! Photoshop express.
This makes the app totally worthless. I can't fathom why people like this app.

  • I just tried using the current release of Photoshop Express on both iPad 2 and iPad 1 (which has less RAM), and I can't reproduce your issue. I was able to edit and save various images, including some from higher res pics (12 megapixel) from my personal camera, which I imported directly to the device using the Apple Camera Connection Kit).

Let me offer some troubleshooting tips, and then pose some questions in case the help suggestions don't work for you.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

You mention you're not running other apps (which even in the background can consume some memory). I recently had a crash in another app from another company. It had been stable for months, and then suddenly stopped working. Restarting my iPad didn't help. Uninstalling/reinstalling from the App store or via iTunes syncing did not help. Backing up my device, and then doing a full system restore resolved the issue for me. I'm still not sure why this helped, but if all else fails, please try this.

If you're importing to the device directly using your own camera kit, are you able to use iTunes to sync images instead, and edit those?

If this troubleshooting above doesn't help, would you mind providing some more detail about your device, images, etc?
--What version of iOS does your iPad run? Is it a standard release from Apple?
--Regarding your images, what device created them? What size are they in megapixels, or pixel area?
--Are other apps able to read and write to your device Camera Roll?

Any additional info or constructive feedback you can provide would be appreciated, as it may ultimately help you and other users.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

I'm having this same issue. I load a photo from the camera roll, edit it, save it. The save seems to process but there are no new photos in the camera roll. I have iPad 1 and I just downloaded the app.

  • Hi Karyn

Did you try the troubleshooting tips above? Specifically, can you try
    1. backing up your iPad (sync to iTunes and ensure it's complete)
    2. wiping it clean (in Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
    3. Restore the device using the last backup you just made

If this does not help, could you please provide more detail:
--What version of iOS does your iPad run?
--Regarding your images, what device created them? What size are they in megapixels, or pixel area?
--Are other image editing apps able to read and write to your device Camera Roll?
