After hearing from all our users, we have now made an easy way to delete your Photoshop.com account. We are sorry to see you go, but if you must... Go to your Account settings and click on "Delete my account". You'll be prompted confirm your request by going to your email and clicking a link. As a reminder, this change CANNOT be undone. All your images will be deleted, so make sure you really want to do it.
If you have an upgraded account (ie, bought more storage, or signed up for Elements plus) you will not see the delete account option until your subscription has expired.
Note: this will not delete your Adobe ID, just your Photoshop.com account.

I did as you suggested above, but I do not have "Delete my account" below my membership date. Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I have two accounts. I can't delete one and I can't merge the two. The tech support guy told me to delete the one I don't have current software accounts attached to so that I can change the ID on the other one to match my current e-mail address.
I've wasted a lot of time and got no where. -

I, too, wish to delete the account and find it all to common that it's easy to sign-up for a service and a bear to try and leave. I suppose it's because companies can claim to have X no. of accounts for marketing purposes.

I don't think that Adobe doesn't *want* you to be able to leave.
It's just a technical issue I guess. Imagine that after deleting your account, all of the things that you did on this site (including the comments in this topic) would have to go too.
That would lead to incomplete discussions and other odd things.
Perhaps the best way would be to change your personal data to something random and assign a 10 minute email address to the account.
Then change your password to something you won't remember.
After that, I don't think that you'll recognize your account. -

I'm very annoyed I can't delete my photoshop.com account. I only opened it because a tech at etsy suggested it might help fix a problem. It's less useful than the photo editing software I already have and all of the images of my work aren't available for piracy and the like. All of my images are off, but I want my information down, too.
It's absurd that I sign up for a free service that I end up not needing and I am in some way tied to it in perpetuity. It seems I am not the only one unhappy , but probably much more protective over my personal information.

OK, this is REALLY irritating!
I've spent too much time trying to find where/how I can delete my account. I found a post about it that was supposedly (is marked as being) "answered" but when I got to My Account, I see no "Delete Account" button or check box or link or anything.
AND! Last night, I toggled my account from "automatically renew" from "On" to "Off" and I also updated my phone number. This morning I checked it and, although the new phone number was saved, my account had reverted back to "automatically renew" (On). You can't tell me this is coincidence. This is roten. This is the kind of stuff that provokes Adbusters and the OWS crowd.
I want to cancel my account (bclayshannon@att.net) and get a refund for the final six months.

Deleting account is harder than diamonds.-
Could you post a screen shot of your Account page? Perhaps it will supply a clue as to why you do not have a Delete link.
I'll pass your account information along to our team to see what we can do about getting this done for you as it sounds like something might be broken with you account, it certainly shouldn't be turning your renewal back on or preventing you from deleting your account. -

For those that do not see the "Delete My Account" option, look back to Jordan's post:
"If you have an upgraded account (ie, bought more storage, or signed up for Elements plus) you will not see the delete account option until your subscription has expired."
You subscription will have to be cancelled before you can delete your account. -

Thanks Brett.
Adobe need to give flexability to delete the account/get pro-rated refund, or delete account/start again (after they have switched off applicable settings that gives then control of what get sent to Photoshop.com. And this should be soon given some of above comments. -
